We employ all of the skills and equipment to fully prepare any siteworks for new concrete installation. Beginning with the removal and disposal of existing material, then the installation of appropriate granular base and finally compaction the new base we ensure you concrete project will be sure to have a solid foundation to prevent movement or heaving.
Concrete forming is one of the backbones of new construction, giving structure and support to slabs, walls and curbs. At Superior Concrete Finishing, we work with various forming systems to accommodate any project. From decorative residential projects to large commercial builds, our crews tackle all jobs with the same precision and orientation to detail.
By understanding the unique challenges every project presents we are able to best cater ourselves to each specific job. We supply and install all manner of underslab materials, be it poly vapor barrier to prevent moisture and rigid insulation to reduce thermal loss to all manner of concrete reinforcements; welded wiremesh or poly-fibres for standard floors driveways and steel reinforcing bars for floors requiring additional support.
Depending upon the size of the project and its constrictions concrete may be placed either by pouring directly off trucks, power buggies, or pumped into place when physical access for the truck is not available. Superior Concrete can place all types of flat work including but not limited to slabs-on-grade, structural slabs, coreslab/steeldeck topping, driveways, curbs, retaining walls & wheelchair or herringbone ramps.
Initially laser-guided vibratory screeds are used to ensure floors are level to an exacting standard, then the floor or driveway is finished in the desired way, either troweled smooth, diamond polished, broomed, exposed aggragate, or stamped
Dry shake floor hardeners are commonly applied to the surface of freshly placed concrete to produce improved wear resistance and density.
Sawcuts are planned cracks which allow for movements caused by temperature changes and drying shrinkage, in other words, if the concrete does crack-you want to have an active role in deciding where it will crack and that it will crack in a straight line instead of randomly.
As concrete is a porous material that readily absorbs liquids in freeze-thaw climates such as Ontario, the expansion of frozen liquids can destroy the surface of unsealed concrete. Oil, salt, fertilizer, and other household chemicals can discolor and damage unsealed concrete, our sealers are available in gloss, flat and anti-slip finishes.
